Firmware very reliable and flashable

I had my first WRT54GS almost 6 years before it was disabled by a lightning strike. I also flashed the firmware to DDWRT, tripled the WiFi power to 70W and added a high gain antenna. It's a great accomplishment and I've replaced my burned out router with one of the same make and model. I like it, and since I mostly have "G" gear, I didn't feel the need to upgrade to "N" standards. This covers my home and outbuildings with a strong signal.

Wireless non-wireless

I have been using this router for several years. This is a very good router and I have used it with Sony Vaio, Compaq and HP computers running Windows XP systems. It works great when it works. The software and setup is a bit fiddly and it seems you need to be online to install it properly. I bought a router because we have a desktop, laptop and Xbox connected to a DSL line.
