I needed a "dog door" for a sliding mesh door. I had to replace the entire screen door due to age and damage and wanted to "upgrade" to a nicer and hopefully more luxurious door than the one I had. Pet screen door is recommended for the price. However, I would not recommend this product if exposed to harsh weather conditions. The frame is plastic and I would pay extra for a stronger frame. The instructions state that the screen door should be removed and laid flat. I didn't do that, I just installed it like that and everything went fine, just needed a second person to hold the other side still while I screwed. Box knife that ran smoothly. Then I inserted a hinged door which (according to the instructions) had to be bent to the point where I was afraid I would break it, but it didn't break.
