I needed a reader that I could keep on my desk for easy access, and this one recognizes them all. I was able to read all the discs pretty quickly when downloading 1GB videos and each one only lasted a few seconds. I plugged it into a USB 3 port and my computer is up. Works great, no cons, just works, very happy with the purchase.

Using the USB 3 port when I try to copy files to my computer through this device, it stops after a few GB and garbles the write to the PC and does not work. When I switch to port 2, it doesn't seem to crash when copying data, but the speed is slow. I know it's most likely not my XQD card's fault as it's a good Sony and seems to be holding up great in my 4k camera. My laptop's built-in card reader seems to be broken as it is several years old. I needed a high-speed card reader primarily for SD cards (and microSD, although I only use the many microSD-to-SD adapters I have) and the occasional XQD card. It was great thanks to the USB 3.0 connection for high speed data transfer. It recognizes the card the moment you insert it with virtually no delay. We tested the card reading speed on my friend's new laptop and the speed was just as fast!

I bought this xQD Reader and found out what I like and don't like about it. Like it: slim, compact, two card readers in ONE. I love how the xQD card is locked in the reader and that you have to insert the card into the reader to unlock and remove the card. I like it because it helps reduce card reading errors. This thing works great; I insert my cards and it IMMEDIATELY reads the files. Then it sends the files to my computer as fast as you want, right there where I tell it to every time.
