Loud noise, good for speakers, not so good for power supply

Glad it works. But that's probably the only thing that's good, apart from the fact that it's not a very good power supply. By definition, this is an SFX power supply, meaning it's designed for use in a smaller case, after all, there are regular sized power supplies out there. at a much lower price, so whoever buys this is building a small PC. Since it's a smaller computer, it will most likely be on a desk next to a working person. At least that's how I set up my computer next to the monitor and

Pros
  • 100% modular cables
Cons
  • Negative impression

I don't think the engineers/designers of this PSU paid much attention to the SFF systems. First, I confirm the review that says the fan never turns off once triggered until you shut down the system (reboot didn't work, yes I tried). I find that anyone who has built an ITX system sits pretty close to their PC and it gets annoyingly noisy as the fan is ALWAYS running at FULL RPM when you're just surfing the web and/or doing really light stuff. Otherwise it would be the end for me, because all…

Lots of power in a small package

I'm using this in my standard PC build and am happy so far as it works well. Admittedly, my build only draws around 10-15% power and the PSU fan didn't activate at all, so I can't say much about fan noise like others. I look forward to porting the 2080ti from my main PC once I can replace it with a newer one from either Nvidia or AMD. I'll update the review if anything changes with the increase in power consumption. It compares well to the Corsair SF750 in my main build. However, as seen in the

Loud Fan Electronics

I had high hopes for this PSU as it sounds great on paper. 750W, 80+ Platinum, Fan noise from 0dB to 250W. What it doesn't tell you is that the fan doesn't spin after you turn it on. It runs at full speed until you turn off your computer completely. Who at Silverstone thought fans shouldn't slow down when work is over? This means that when I'm done with a game, I'll sit and listen to a fan hum at 2000 rpm until I turn off my computer. This is possibly the strangest oversight I've encountered in

Pros
  • SFX Standard Form Factor
Cons
  • Very Expensive

(This is the original review. Below are some updates that gave me a positive review. This section is for historical reference only.) Wow. I expected this power supply to be a worthy competitor to the elusive Corsair SF750. I was wrong. I would be okay with the poor cables and lower build quality on this SilverStone SX750. The cables are replaced with special cables and hidden in my computer case. never mind However, I have a comment. Fan. It's overwhelmingly LOUD. When I do something…
