Not for spiders: reptiles and amphibians

Great tank, bad for spiders, when they climb they can get their feet stuck at the top of the screen and lose limbs. Thank god I fixed this problem. You can easily do the same by replacing it with plexiglass or acrylic. You can get this at the pet store for $40.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Very expensive

They work great: reptiles and amphibians

Works great! Use a few of these until the glass breaks as I've had no good there. One review states that tarantulas lose limbs in webs because 90% of glass terrariums use wire mesh and none of my tarantulas have ever gotten stuck in a web

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Update available

Avoid the evidence! Suitable for Substrate

Damn I hate to slander reptile companies but this is another cheap product from Zoo Med. It is designed for insects, reptiles and other inversions. This is probably only good for hermit crabs. The top of the slider will NOT snap into place. It is locked with a locking pin that is fairly loose and the lid still slides enough to accommodate bugs, small spiders, etc. I had to tape the edges and just cut/repaste each time I open the lid. Just awful.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not the best

They work great in the smallest of spaces.

I have 3 of the 6 gallons and 2 of the newer 1.5. I use small, large for baby snakes. This allows you to follow them. I will be moving mine to 6 gallons as they now need more room. I am using the current 6 gallons for baby geckos, a scorpion and a bearded baby which is also in the process of being upgraded. The only issue I had with the 6 was that one wasn't drilled properly so the locking pin has to fumble to get through and the other has a cut in the screen. (Fixed by stitching.) The cut is…

Pros
  • hands free
