*stinks* fits computers and accessories

I bought this router because I was broke and my internet company suggested D-Link as the best router for their services. I know D-Link is a good brand. But it's not a good router. Setup was easy and the router has a lot of good settings. This works, but tends to "hang" quite often, resulting in about 60 seconds where I just can't access the internet because the router is figuring something out. I have a network monitor and was able to see when this was happening because whatever site I was…

Wonderful! on the subject of computers and accessories

This router can be easily installed from the supplied diskette. Now I don't have to pay Comcast's extra $2/month for a wireless router that is less secure than this wired router. To all of you considering a wireless router from a cable company, DO NOT. I simply drilled a hole in the wall next to the baseboard with a long drill bit extension and then ran an ethernet cable with a hanger wire to the next room where my son has a computer. Then, with the internet cable installer gone, I followed the

Piece of the pie for Mac users too

UPDATE - September 2010: This wired ethernet router worked well for a little over 2 years and then started to have even more frequent periods of slow or failing web page loading. Many other people had similar problems. Check out these reviews and Google "D-Link 2310 Slow Web Page Loading" for plenty of examples. When I contacted D-Link support, they didn't confirm the issue (despite several posts about it on their own D-Link forum). I solved the problem by replacing it with a TRENDnet…

WORKS EVERY 2 MINUTES - NO SAFE PLACE

This ETHERNET D-LINK EBR 2310 ROUTER is junk. I spent 8 hours over 2 days working on it to get it working [my computer skills are above average]. I was finally able to connect my computer and Blu-ray player to the internet. While I was opening the champagne, the router suddenly died. It literally worked for two minutes, after which it became a coaster. That's very sad. Keep in mind that with all the work, despite the help from their tech support (better via email than phone, btw) I was never…

As a Mac user, I read some reviews here first to make sure this router would work with my Mac. Some nice people have posted specific Mac setup instructions here, so I thought I'd give it a try. After receiving the device, I found that the published instructions I saw didn't mention using a Mac AirPort (wireless) connection to my Mac - they described a wired connection. Oops! I thought I might be in trouble. Tonight after going outside to make sure the planets lined up I figured I'd give it a…

Fails its sole purpose: packet routing

I ordered this item to replace my existing router with one that handles a 10+Mbps WAN port. Since I already have a separate firewall, all I need to do is provide simple routing from the connection I get from my ISP to my firewall. I assembled and set up the device. Everything worked fine for a while, then DNS attempts timed out, downloads failed, and pings didn't always get a response. After extensive troubleshooting, I determined that the new router was the cause of the problem. So I put the…
