The micrometer is terrible but the seller partially refunded it without asking for a return to China. Fowler makes a similar product that costs three times what it should, or save money and buy a Starret or Brown & Sharp micrometer.

This is an accurate, good value, medium quality instrument, just what I need for my home workshop. Anyone who has a workshop should get one. However, I cannot recommend it for a commercial store as it doesn't look durable and needs to be disassembled and cleaned before use.

I have many Chinese made gauges and most of them fit very well within the +/- 0.002 tolerances I need. I have a small batch of parts where I needed to easily measure the slot width, so I figured this would work as a cheap and easy way.
