Description of Thrustmaster TH8A Shifter (Compatible with PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC)

Solidly-built and precise, the TH8A is crafted of 100% metal. Featuring H.E.A.R.T HallEffect AccuRate Technology technology (patent pending), the TH8A‘s precision won’t decrease over time, thanks to its contactless magnetic sensors: no tact switches or potentiometers, for an unlimited product lifespan. Unique design allowing for two different driving styles: “H”-pattern (7-plus-1) and sequential (plus/minus). Multiplatform: on PC (Windows 7/8/10), the TH8A Add-On Shifter is compatible with all racing wheels available in the video game accessories market. On PS4 the TH8A is compatible with the T150 Series, the T300 Series, and the T-GT (USB and/or DIN connections), while on Xbox One it is compatible with the TMX Series, the TX Series and the TS-XW Series (DIN connection). The TH8A can be attached to any support surface: tables or shelves.

Works great for me, other games don't support it

Excellent product and runs very smoothly for American Truck Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator, Dirt Rally and Dirt Rally 2.0 All the problems I've had along the way of the game. Cons: 1. I want to tweak where the switch resets when idle. I wish the locking mechanism was easier to unlock and lock. They really are a must have for some woodworking clamps, they are threaded to lock and release but also have the ability to quickly lock or release once they are out of position. I move my switch to…

The finishing touches to an amazing setup

What I use: t300 rs servo, tx servo, vg tm leather steering wheel, t3pa pro and now th8a derailleur. Adding fun to racing simulator. Like the clutch in t3pa, I found the shifter "too hardcore" for me. Luckily I was wrong, the shifter adds a layer of immersion and common sense to racing. Surprisingly, I recovered by using the shifter instead of paddle shifters. The additional gear shift in combination with the clutch makes shifting more dynamic and fun. I don't know about realism because I don't

Near perfect, best accessory

Well this part was the most anticipated part of my entire setup and immediately it's a big boy. It's hefty and, as advertised, it's made out of lots of metal, which is a good thing. Connected without problems, works without complaints. The clamp is strong enough by the way to not need an extra hard mount like the rest of my setup. The tension screw is good, but it's odd that almost everything else in my setup has an Allen screw, including the circuit board screws, but that's about it. Oh, to be

Good for a mid-range switch. A little discouraging.

I paired it with a Thrustmaster T300 Ferarri Alcantera wheel, T3PA Pro pedal set and wheel stand. I thought it was the best hardware you could buy for less than $1000, but looking back I wish I could spend a few hundred dollars and start using Fanatec hardware right away. This manipulator itself is fine. I've never had a problem with it or with the Thrustmaster controller's interface, but it's always left a lot to be desired. It feels sloppy and frankly cheap. For another $100 or so, you can…

Simulated switch H-shape

I received a Thrustmaster T300 as a gift. I was so impressed with this device that I decided to purchase the TH8A shifting accessory to further enhance the driving simulation (with H-pattern shifting) experience. When I received the product I was very impressed with its solid construction (a rarity these days) and easy synchronization with the T300 and simulation software. The shifter was great for sequential shifting, but once I started using the H-shifter I was disappointed. Not the fault of…

Great manual shifter

I waited a long time before deciding to buy this Thrustmaster TH8A Add-On Transmission Shifter for PC. The main reason was that the price fluctuated quite a lot, the low was observed in the $150 area. The second reason was that I liked the shift pads on my handlebars and was happy with them. After purchasing a Sparco handbrake, it finally made sense to purchase a manual shift lever. Both depend on the Thrustmaster clip, which I also bought. I had to pay more than the base price but I'm glad I…

Fantastic Quality: Accessory

I currently have a Logitech G27 switch and the build quality of the Thrustmaster TH8A is much better than Logitech. The ability to switch to sequential shifting is a huge plus. The shift gate gives reliable feedback when changing gears and produces a solid mechanical sound when the gear is engaged. That's what Logitech was missing. I liked the extra buttons and hat switch on the G27, but that doesn't matter given the difference in quality and feel. The only downside, if you can call it that, is

Read this before you buy or you may be disappointed with your purchase.

I bought this pedal because I needed it to be compatible with my TMX Pro handlebar. I figured if I chose the TH8A over the Fanatec or Logitech switches I could save a USB slot by putting it in the steering wheel. No, I was wrong! Nowhere in the marketing materials was this ever disclosed when purchasing the product. The first problem is that it requires a USB connection to use it with a PC! It's not the worst problem, the worst problem is that it requires USB 2.0 and as luck would have it my…
