Let the sun shine. on luggage and travel gear

This umbrella is perfect for my purpose. It's a standard size, has a rounded handle which I find more comfortable than straight handles, and it has a drawstring umbrella pocket so I can sling it over my shoulder. I use it mostly for sun (I live in South Florida) but also for rain of course. The one I had before was great but it was very large like a golf size and very heavy without a shoulder strap.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • I have doubts

Perfect for one person

Due to my extreme sensitivity to the sun I needed one like this. I searched the internet for a long time and got stuck. It's perfect for one person. The handle is ergonomic and very comfortable. The shoulder strap is handy if you're carrying a bag with it, but I don't see the need for it if you're using your umbrella. Very good protection from the sun (and I find from the rain as it's quite a bulky material). It appears to be very well made.

  • Hard wearing surface

Amazing sun protection

I recently got a sunburn which has resulted in sun sickness. Sunlight burns me instantly and gives me symptoms of sun poisoning. It happened a few weeks ago and it made me a virtual vampire. Today I received an umbrella with UV protection. I stepped out into the 106 degree sunlight and raised my umbrella. The temperature under the umbrella dropped ten degrees or more, and my skin stopped burning as if I'd stepped inside. Unbelievable. My condition will most likely fade, but I will never be…

Blocks out solar heat better than others

Bought this for work. As a result, we stand in the sun all day, mostly on asphalt. It's getting hot. It does an excellent job of keeping the heat off me. I also bought a Sun Tec which was a bit cheaper. That's good, but this umbrella is noticeably cooler in terms of protection from the sun's heat. The ST screen lets heat through, this one doesn't. My only complaint is that it's not as big as the ST brand. Still, it's big enough for a person standing outside in the sun, and the difference in…

For women: If you have the strength of Hercules this is for you

UV blocker to make a very light (cane) umbrella. I loved them so much that I bought at least four of them around 2011. I lost a couple of them and I don't know what happened to the other two. Maybe they got stuck in sticky fingers. Anyway, I spoke to UV Blocker about a year ago and the little information I got from the representative made me realize that they no longer make them. Now, about a year ago, I bought this "fashion umbrella". I sent it back because it was very difficult to close. I…

Cheaper processing quality, nice and fashionable

The quality did not meet my expectations. They use ALL PLASTIC where metal was used for my regular totes umbrella. It has a good finish and looks good but my first impression is that something is about to break. I'd happily pay a few bucks more or whatever it takes to get something really durable, but most people just look at the price. really good job at protecting your upper body from the sweltering heat and UV rays while walking. Now I can go outside at 2pm in full sunshine and exercise…

Knowing how to use an umbrella is important to achieve the effect.

I bought a UV protected umbrella to use during education week. The temperature ranged between 88-94 degrees every day for a week. Between sessions we walked 9,600 to 10,000 steps a day and the days were long. After the first day I was ready to return the umbrella because the heat that pooled under the umbrella didn't seem any different from the air without an umbrella. I've decided to go back to using the UV blocker umbrella. From day 3 to 5 I experimented with walking slower and tilting the…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

Terrible expensive disappointment! If you have a reason to avoid the sun for health reasons, this product will not help! When I first took it out of the box I was so excited because the handle has a J curve so it's easy to hold. I thought a great line is worth the money. Until I started running with it and realized that the size of the umbrella itself is tiny, comparable to a travel umbrella if not smaller. with plastic collar at the end for attachment to a chair. The cheap, reflective…
