Decentralized Virtual Private Networks hosting. Another project that keeps one wowed
I have been seeing Orchid and it's token OXT in many places in my times on the Crypto market. I have come to understand the use case of this token going beyond it's trading and staking function. Orchid is an Ethereum token project that brings decentralized method of accessing Virtual Private Networks using it's token, OXT as a payment means without giving the service location your identity. To make use of this VPN Orchid provides, I get to use OXT to buy bandwidth from their node providers, the number of exchanges that even hold the token for trading are much so it was not hard to get that done. After that, I transferred the tokens to the wallet address on the Orchid application and then some parts of the tokens were debited as membership fee. I understand that this is meant to protect misbehavior on the network. With my balance, I get to choose my rates from the ones available and I get charged per use not on a period based limit.
With the explanation of how I used the platform, you can see how easy it is to make use of Orchid. There is no need for any technical knowledge to operate or use this VPN like some I have seen where you will have to tweak your IP address and DNS servers. On Orchid, it's different.
To be honest, I don't really see much into this project speaking in a larger term. Take for example, my locality, we make use of free VPN services and even try out premium membership then after it's ended, we cut off. So using that experience, I don't really see much people using Orchid for their VPN needs. It's use though might be popular in countries like the USA and other countries that usually gamble in the world of restrictions. Orchid will be their best option. I like the way the project has progressively moved from it's times of low adoption and is getting recognition though not in a large scale.

- Orchid provides Virtual Private Networks service I'm a decentralized manner and giving the users their privacy
- Orchid token OXT is traded on many major exchanges so to get the token is very easy. You could just head on to an exchange, buy and send to begin using their services
- There is a competitive cost of usage that charges users for their use not period
- Anyone can stake Orchid token and get incentives for doing that
- Orchid VPN service is made available through the application provided for Android, iOS and even Mac OS.
Cons
- I don't see much people using this service, especially in developing countries due to cost
