Status Messenger

Status is a multipurpose communication tool that combines a peer-to-peer messenger, a decentralized crypto wallet and a Web3 browser. Messenger allows you to send and receive fully encrypted messages without any central server. With the click of a tab, you can easily access your non-custodial crypto wallet. The wallet is very easy to use within the status communication: you will be able to send invoice type transactions and messages. Right now, you are working with Ethereum and ERC20 tokens (SNT is an Ethereum-based token and is traded on multiple exchanges). It is completely open source and made by contributors from all over the world. Developers, designers, creators, educators, hobbyists, enthusiasts, and more all have free and open access to repositories, assets, and information. It strives to be a safe communication tool that upholds human rights. Status allows community money, community law and, through privacy, preserves culture. It uses the Whisper peer-to-peer protocol and end-to-end encryption to protect your communication from third-party interference. Only you can see your messages. Status combines decentralized messaging, wallet, and DApp browser into a powerful, private, and secure communication tool.
Status is undoubtedly one of the best combinations in encrypted messaging applications that will allow us to keep our data protected from hackers, governments and corporations.

Pros
  • It is not a traditional organization. They have no hierarchy, there are no offices or managers.
  • Status can be downloaded from the iOS App Store, Google Play Store or from its website in direct download.
  • The Status Coin (SNT) is an Ethereum-based token and is traded on multiple exchanges.
  • The integration of a secure messaging platform, cryptocurrency wallet, DApp store, and Web3 wallet is incredible.
Cons
  • It is annoying that there is no desktop app.
  • It has not been given the importance it deserves and it is a project that highly depends on the community.
