Review on 🔧 Engineers Puchirache DR-54: Optimum Performance for Engineering Professionals by Jay Huang

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent screwdriver, very handy tool

Short version, buy it. It's a well-made tool that works exactly as it's intended. This purchase taught me a few important things. ENGINEER® is a brand name for tools distributed (mainly) by the Japanese company Engineer Inc. DR--54 is the model number as indicated. No English, almost no French, packed for export. The aluminum body (aluminum? lightweight, non-magnetic) measures just under 1.5 inches in diameter, just over 9/16 inches thick, the red trim is nice and evenly spaced. Steel center drive, holds each 1/4" bit on each side, 25/32" long. The ratchet works in one direction, you move the BIT in the opposite direction. The arrow printed on the marked side shows the direction of travel. Magnets on each side keep the racquet in place. There are fine. 45 teeth per revolution, so pretty good "swing". Comes with a bit marked PH 2, presumably Phillips #2, an important distinction from misleading JIS mounts. The overall quality is really good. I will definitely come back if this tool fails to update this review. At the time of purchase, the price was the cheapest seller in Japan and it was delivered quickly.

Pros
  • Compact size allows working in tight and hard-to-reach places
Cons
  • Basically ok, but...
