Strange visible white glow. This works, but is not ideal for my purposes.

This flashlight is ideal for checking documents. That's because the visible light it emits is weird as hell. A very soft white glow emanates from it, which illuminates everything at least slightly. I suspect that in the wavelength spectrum plot there is a bottom line that extends from the UV end to the 700nm end. It's like being able to walk in the dark and ALMOST light up the hallway. So it's possible to see the entire ID with that very faint white glow. Then there is the UV part of the spectrum, which peaks at 365 nm. This thing illuminates anything that responds to light in that spectrum as if it were daylight. It gives off a BRIGHT reflective glow that is ideal for UV reactive inks used in ID cards. However, I did not receive it for ID verification. I got that no visible light came from it and I could still see the UV reaction. But there's this soft white glow wherever I point, and it gets darker as the room gets darker. wump wump. It works, but I might try another flashlight that doesn't have this handy ID verification feature. I also found that some of the UV reactivity I was looking for didn't fully extend at 365nm. That's about a 30nm difference in the light spectrum, meaning what reacts at 395nm might not be as bright at 365nm. Put simply, this can be the difference between green and yellow in visible light. Like the color spectrum of visible light, not everything in the UVA spectrum responds to the same wavelength of radiation.
