An excellent item in all respects, well made and well thought out. except for one big problem. The buttons are very sensitive and the device has to hang completely out of clothing or it may stop counting or change settings (disaster!). I worked in a professional bakery and would rather tuck it in my back pocket or under my apron than wave it around. No, no, don't do it. If you're working at a station and you can just put it on a workbench, you're fine. After some time I still like it for its simplicity and good quality for the money. BUT. He needs a lock button! so he stays at home on the counter. For the industrial kitchen I work in. I found the Thermoworks TimeStick to be the best of all. It has a lock button and in fact I rarely use this lock button as the device is so sturdy that I can take it anywhere. in your pocket/under your apron and the settings will NOT change unexpectedly. Get a Time Stick and look no further.
