I attached a tarpaulin to this rope and made ultra-light carabiners out of it. It's durable but a bit slippery. Slip resistance is good for carabiners, but using it to secure a tarp requires some knowledge of knots. I wouldn't use it as a taut line without some device to keep it taut. I have these things so this line fits my needs well. If you plan on using this for hiking I would highly recommend this. Use your ingenuity and imagination to make it useful in many applications. For other purposes, well, I can't talk about that.
