Review on Iomega Superslim USB 2.0 8X DVD Writer: Powerful External Optical Drive 34427 by Joseph Morris

A little tired of the reviews.

.but not required. It was an amazing purchase, it worked right out of the box, nothing else was required to work with my Dell Inspiron Mini 10, not even the software that came with it. Information I thought was lost forever (my Compaq Presario C500 couldn't read it because it was created on an old PC), but this fine machine read it with no problem. I am very satisfied with this product, a must-have for any netbook, you will not regret it. Addendum: I don't know what the hell is going on. My Dell Mini Inspiron Mini 10 was stolen along with my Iomega DVD so I had to replace it with the SAME DVD. To work. It recognizes the CDs I had previously, but when I try to open them it just tries to read the CDs to no avail. Even if I insert a blank CD nothing happens. It recognizes the Nero software, but does not support the device when working. I don't know what else to do, but as happy as I am that it worked with the Mini 10, that crap just doesn't work with HP. So be very careful, this device may not work with some machines.

Pros
  • Useful not only for intended purpose
Cons
  • Availability of update
