No measure of remaining charge and no flashlight function limit use for emergencies

There's a lot to like about this camping lantern. It's bright, it's smaller than I thought it would be, and it's light. Those are all big pluses in my book.I got this not so much for camping (though it will come in handy on those rare occasions) but for an emergency light at my house. We lose power at times -- maybe a couple times a year. Not often enough to have a generator, but enough to consider at least some sort of back up plan. This is my backup plan. I can have a little light if we lose power at night. And I like that I'll be able to charge my phone on it. Another huge plus. The only thing I don't like about the lantern is that I can't tell how much battery is left. Since I'm not going to be using it all the time -- and probably only on rare occasions -- I'd like to make sure that it's charged when I do need it. Or to figure out some sort of charging schedule so that it's ready to go in emergency situations. The fact that I can't tell how much battery is left means that it's harder to plan for such situations. The other problem -- perhaps more pressing -- is that the flashlight function on the lantern does not work. It did at first. And more recently it doesn't. I don't know what happened, since I've really only used the lantern to test it.All things considered, it's a decent product and will help me. So I'm grateful to have it. I just wish the flashlight function worked (the lantern and SOS elements works great) and that I could tell how much battery is left.
