As soon as we opened the microscope and plugged it in, the electrical transformer inside exploded after a few seconds rendering the light unusable. Swapping bulbs and fuses didn't help. There was little to no information in the manual but the mention that it was for 110-240v seemed to suggest it would fit our 240v New Zealand electrical supply but that doesn't apply to our unit, be it due to malfunction of the device. or this product is not compatible with our power adapter. Aside from the non-working lighting, this is a well-designed microscope for the price, which is a shame. We would have sent it back, but the guarantee and return period was so short that we didn't stand a chance. 3 stars because the products seem to be good apart from this error. Attention, no guarantee!
