I have a Netgear wgt624 and it's a HUGE improvement. At the farthest points of my house where there was previously no connectivity or slow performance, I now measure between 90% and 100% of the maximum speed. about 60-70% of max. Moving the laptop more than a few feet will restore full bandwidth. I currently have version 2 of the router. I had version 1 and it tended to freeze a few times a month and required frequent power cycles. This usually happened when WiFi was used. Luckily I didn't have this problem with v2. One annoying aspect I found is that when configuring this device, each configuration choice requires a reset that takes 20 or 30 seconds. If you want to customize more than a few items, be prepared to be annoyed. Luckily, for most people, this will only be an issue during the initial setup.
