This review is worth reading if you really want to know. This shark isn't quite perfect, but I still give it 5 stars. It has a lot going for it, and it has some features that tell me it was designed by someone who actually makes vacuums. Here are the hallmarks for me – someone who vacuums every day (I make a living cleaning my house, and sometimes even my own, haha). I need something that can actually pick up hair from carpets, can be used on bare floors (no spitting), and has functional attachments. Also, I've never had constipation or problems. I am happy. I bought this LIFT AWAY after one of my clients bought it for their home. I already have a couple of Shark vacuums for home use, so I don't need another one at all. I kept telling myself that. BUT every time I've used their vacuum cleaner, I just liked its features more than my own. In the end I couldn't resist the temptation to buy one myself and ended up ending up. Adult toys, heheOK, here are some details: --- The vacuum cleaner has excellent suction power, and the suction control is on the handle. It's so easy to change it in a snap. This is important because the pull is strong in this vacuum. So much so that he would grab the string if he wasn't careful. How to avoid it? Do not suck up cables/hanging material etc. or simply adjust the suction strength. Keep this in mind when using a carpet cleaner. The trigger is also very easy to remove and reinsert. Everything is within reach, seems intuitive. Many other vacuums have a hose and hard tube that can be pulled out for a variety of cleaning jobs, but I find the wand to be much quicker and easier to use on the go. There is no need to bend or reinsert it. Because the wand is slightly tapered, it's also very effective at sucking things up off the floor, out of corners, and under things. Take the ON BOARD attachment for additional functionality. -- Tools ON BOARD. I don't know why, but not all vacuum cleaners have built-in memory. That's ridiculous. I find that applies to Dyson and even some Shark models. In THIS vacuum cleaner there is a place for a narrow tube and a place for a brush. Unfortunately, the included stair/furniture tool has no place and must therefore be kept separately. I suppose it would add weight otherwise. Still, it would be nice to have an option. -- EASY release cup. Again, the on or off function is intuitive, quick and easy. Some of them are very difficult to take off and put back on. I have an old shark that has clips on the cups that need to be undone. It adds time! So this mug is just a quick one-handed push of the button and it pops out. It's very easy to go back, so you'll have to fight to put it back in the right place. - Large capacity mug. I have used a Dyson which required emptying the bowl every 5-10 minutes or every 1-2 rooms. In one cleaning session I had to stop 4-5 times to empty the bowl. every time THIS mug is big, holds a lot, and I typically empty it 1-2 times per cleansing session. ALSO, the bowl is big enough to slip my hand in to grab stubborn dirt particles, hairballs, etc. Having used many vacuums (look at you Dyson) that have a narrow interior chamber. This cup can simply be thrown in the trash. Another amazing detail - the top of the mug can be opened up for additional access to the inner mug. Nothing is clogged, and if it is, it's easy and quick to fix. In my life, time is money. I either do my own thing or people spend their thing (If I'm fighting a vacuum then that time adds up to not spending time on anything else. Or at home I don't want to spend time on chores). --INTUITIVE design all around. Lightweight step blade to transfer the vacuum cleaner to a lying position. A similar paddle slightly higher (but painted red) to activate the LIFT AWAY mechanism. The Off/Hard Floor/Carpet option is easily adjustable and easily accessible. The suction regulator on the handle, on the other hand, is easy to reach and operate. The mud shell is easy to put on and take off - easy to use, good location. Everything is exactly where it makes sense. come to me.--Once in the lift-away position, you're left with only part of the vacuum's body/canister. It is convenient for walking to get into high and low turns. Also ideal for use as a ladder tool with a much simpler and easier to maneuver canister without the added weight and bulk of a power rod. When it's done, it snaps into place. The Power/Beat panel is backlit and easy to rotate. It is easy to move/steer but easily adapts to maneuver around the object. No fights. Good length cord. I've had shorter ones, I've had longer ones (Dyson usually has a very long cord). If I have a suggestion for improvement and as far as I know there might be an option. it would be a wide floor brush tool. For quick hard floor cleaning I would like to use a pole and attach a wider floor nozzle instead of always using it upright in hard floor mode. And then the pole extension. It would just make it an overall product. Even if it is sold as a separate product for this device. I would definitely buy it. While this hasn't happened with mine, I've noticed that my clients' vacuum sometimes overheats. This has happened a few times in very hot, humid weather and when vacuuming for a long time. So I took that into account, but that didn't stop me from buying it for myself. I've had mine for about a month now and use it almost every day (so much fur!). I like it. A few additional thoughts: I clean houses for a living. I am often asked which vacuum cleaner is better. In fact, there is no "best" vacuum cleaner. It depends on what you need and what features you prefer. I used to only like canister vacuums but they really don't exist anymore (I only see Miele anymore and I don't think it can handle all the fur. I use them in houses without fur and find a hammer "ok" , they too usually require maintenance). There are very cheap and lightweight vacuum cleaners that are best suited for fur-free households or for very light cleaning. Most carpets are cleaned very superficially. Not for me. I need a vacuum that will grab the carpet and pick up hair and dirt from the surface and deep into it. I used high end and low end. I've used so many brands and styles over the years that the last decade has been fine. Vacuums from the 80's, 90's, early and mid 2000's were good. Then I noticed a decrease in quality and availability since then. Prices remain high for quality that didn't make it. Some vacuum cleaner brands have closed. And some of them performed on stage. Shark/Ninja products have helped fill a gap that was sorely missed. Quality product at a reasonable price. Some models are disposable, others last a long time. I think if I can get 3-5 years that's good. I expect at least 1 year of intensive use from me. More is a bonus. There are jokes that the Ninja blender is a poor man's Vitamix and the Shark vacuum cleaner is a poor man's Dyson. I had both. It's funny that having a lot of experience with both products, I keep recommending Shark/Ninja products. The performance is there and the price is budget. Unfortunately, the Dyson turned out to be a discarded product for me. Ok while it lasted, but not as intuitive as the Shark. Now does that mean it lasts forever? nope Unless you vacuum a few times a year, no vacuum cleaner will last for decades. I've changed a few Dysons ($500-600) in the last 3-4 years. After the second I stopped. It was a pleasure to have this shark. So far, so good. If it falls apart or I come across something else worth sharing, I definitely will. I am really excited about this product and hope it will serve me (and everyone else) well in the future. hp This vacuum is about 12-13 pounds. Not heavy by most standards, but might be too big for some. KNOW your limits. An ultra light vacuum (unless the Oreck - they have a completely different design that allows it to be ultra light yet super efficient), a vacuum usually doesn't have the power in the power bar or suction power to really pick up dirt from carpets. It cleans the surface but I find they don't really get the job done (well if you don't have fur, generally always clean at home or as an option between deeper cleanings - use a heavier and more efficient vacuum until deep cleaning) . 1-2 times a week, then lightly for superficial quick daily cleaning). You can be sure to find a slight surface vacuum when you see brands that typically fall in the $40-$80 range.
