When you turn on the air conditioning and smell like a dead animal, that's exactly what you need. Very easy to replace. Mercedes has a problem with this smell, the design is bad, the old water runs out of the hood and settles in the filter, then the filter starts to smell over time. I would also replace Mercedes-Benz 166 830 03 18 cabin air filters (2). You will see them when you pull out this filter. Make sure you set LEFT first (check it out). It only has slide guides on the left side, then insert the right side, push back first, then slide in on the right. CLEAN ALL AREAS VERY WELL BEFORE INSTALLATION WITH CLOROX WIPES! There are rubber grommets on the components that you remove to get to this filter. I would spray and soak the rubber seals while they're off to make sure you get rid of the smell of everything. It's about 20 minutes of work, no tools required. It's under the hood on the passenger side just in front of the wiper, you'll see the air vent, pull it out. Then remove the clips (3) from the compartment below, after that you will see the filters. That's easy! Guaranteed clean fresh scent again!
