Not As Good As I'd Hoped

Like most dog owners with pets who destroy chew toys, I'm always looking for "The One," and I thought this might be it (I bought the rabbit). When I first took it out of the box, it looked ideal: The material seemed tough (almost like carpet), items like the ears and legs seemed securely attached, there wasn't a lot of stuffing in the body. Plus, it was a "9" on the Tuff Scale ("Extremely Tuff - Extremely Durable"). My dog seemed to like it as well.Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. We played fetch for a while without incident and did a little tug-of-war, but when he had a little time by himself with the toy (maybe 15-20 minutes), he tore off the piping on one front leg, then the tip of the leg, and then out came the stuffing. It basically only lasted two evening play sessions.I know that there are no guarantees for dog toys, but the "9" rating seems too generous for the rabbit toy --I'd give it maybe a "7," ("A really tough toy, but still vulnerable"). Might be great for less aggressive chewers, but for my dog (60-pound Akita mix), it just didn't work out.
