I bought 3 of these to give my home network a faster backbone than the one I already had. Like most people who buy them, I don't have wired ethernet at home and need a cheaper alternative. I currently have a Verizon Fios (75/75) and am using MoCA with the Actiontec wireless router that came with it. We recently cut the cable (I'll explain later), and with the addition of some Google Homes and other tech, I've noticed the internet slowing down. My router currently leases addresses to 35 different devices, so I thought it was time to rethink my network layout. I had previously considered Actiontec's solution but settled on Motorola because of the price. The MoCA adapters worked great! Still easy to set up with a stable and constant connection. Along with all the wireless, we also use HD Homerun Prime along with Verizon's basic TV package (just an extra $10 a month with far more channels than just local). If all three tuners were used at the same time, the network would hang. With the MM1000 installed I can now stream all three tuners without affecting other services. Brilliant! As an added benefit, I can now use full Verizon bandwidth from every device in the house. As part of the network upgrade, Verizon also provided an Ethernet port on the ONT. So it's Gig in MM1000 from ONT instead of continuing to use coaxial cable (MoCA) from ONT. Since the images cost more than I'm willing to print, I've attached some images showing everything, the web, and the results. UPDATE: Almost a year of use with ongoing problems. All three blocks worked perfectly. During this time I didn't have to restart any of the devices, although they accidentally restarted due to power outages. They recovered with no problems. I updated all three devices to the latest firmware, but only to improve security. I have since upgraded my WiFi router to two devices from one device on the second floor. One on the first floor and one on the second floor. It wasn't one of the network solutions, but rather two separate access points that connected directly to the MoCA adapters on each floor. I've updated my network diagram to reflect the change and show that each MoCA adapter has a coax connection attached. . I still recommend this product for those who don't have wired ethernet at home but want comparable speeds.
