Finally! Gigabit Ethernet without a Cat 6 cable!

I moved to a new house where the network is the worst. The AT&T fiber runs downstairs in the garage and then up the CAT6 to the laundry room where a patch panel distributes the CAT6 back to the family room and upstairs to the master bedroom. My downstairs office doesn't have ethernet, so I used a Netgear Orbi Pro (which I really don't like) to connect ethernet to my switch in my office, but throughput rarely exceeded 300Mbps, even to the access point and the destination here is the connectionโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent streaming and gaming: Increased WiFi bandwidth, higher bandwidth and more stable signal enable lag-free 4K and HD streaming, gaming and video conferencing simultaneously throughout the house.
Cons
  • packaging is ugly

Outstanding performance in its price range.

I bought 3 of these to give my home network a faster backbone than the one I already had. Like most people who buy them, I don't have wired ethernet at home and need a cheaper alternative. I currently have a Verizon Fios (75/75) and am using MoCA with the Actiontec wireless router that came with it. We recently cut the cable (I'll explain later), and with the addition of some Google Homes and other tech, I've noticed the internet slowing down. My router currently leases addresses to 35โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Expert Support Available: Comes with a 2-year warranty and free US support.
Cons
  • old

Compatible with TiVo Security!

I bought two of these devices for my home network, which also includes three TiVos devices running MoCA 1.1. TiVos is MoCA 1.1 and the new Motorola devices are MoCA 2.0. To my delight, the Motorola devices worked well with TiVos. Initially I was concerned that I might need to disable TiVo MoCA encryption as it wasn't obvious that the Motorola devices supported any type of encryption, let alone the same encryption. used by TiVos. Fortunately, there is no need to worry. If you google "Motorolaโ€ฆ
