Super tire that works in almost all conditions

I love this tire. After ten years of mountain bike racing, I realized that you don't need a heavy profile to glide on any surface, and in fact, lightweight and minimalist tires tend to beat anything in the all-condition tire market. I live in western Pennsylvania and ride rough back roads and two lane trails in the woods. My Cannondale Topstone 1 came with 37mm riddlers, which worked fairly well, but I couldn't move very fast in the rough conditions to keep my teeth from chattering. After increasing the tire size to 40mm, everything changed. These tires really soften the bumps in the roads and paths, and at different pressures. I've ridden them at 35 and 55 and to be honest they handled everything about the same at both pressures. Downhills, winding trails, ruts and rocky country roads. They call it. The extra volume really makes a big difference and absorbs most of the road vibrations. Of course, I'm 200 pounds, so I can work with the extra pressure and still enjoy the cushioning effect of the larger tire. In terms of durability, I've ridden them on all surfaces for a while and the tread is holding up well. . As far as tubes and tubeless go, I ride tubes and haven't had any flats or leak issues or beads that won't stick. Everything is fine there. As far as the best driving conditions for these tires go, they seem to handle everything from loose heavy gravel to sand and wet surfaces well. I haven't noticed any drop in performance, except maybe in very wet, slippery conditions with a lot of mud, and despite that, they still performed well. For me, a great all-round gravel tire that I will wear again and again. For full disclosure, I have two sets of wheels for my bike and run a set of 32mm road/touring tires on the other wheels so I don't have to look for a compromise tire. I give this tire 5 stars. Great product that lives up to the claims advertised. I will buy them again. UPDATE: 8 months and 1500 miles later. The front tire has 90% tread left or better. The rear tire is finally showing some wear and there's probably about 25% tread left and it's about to be replaced. So I'm also very happy with the durability and in all my time I've never had a flat (I run with inner tubes). I'm still very satisfied and will be ordering another one to replace the rear ones.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Disappearing effect
