Just received the CanaKit Raspberry Pi 4 MAX Kit. This Pi will join nine others that are permanently installed and running 24/7 in my house. This particular Pi becomes the Apache web server. However, other applications include: an NTP server with a chip-scale cesium atomic clock, a WWVB clock, two GPS clocks, a GPS/NTP real-time monitor, and four for a differential GNSS project. There are probably a dozen more in storage that have played a role in projects like the IPv6 testbed. These were all CanaKits with different Raspberry Pi models. I like the kits because [1] they have almost everything I need, [2] they work, [3] they are reasonably priced, and [4] I can order and get them from Revain with little to no hassle. in a few days. I run all my Raspberry Pis headless and only use a monitor, keyboard and mouse for the initial setup. After that, I mostly manage them by logging in remotely via SSH over my home network, usually wirelessly. I got started with UNIX by installing BSD 4.2 on a VAX 750 decades ago. I was thrilled when I bought a set of Yggdrasil Linux distribution CDs on it and installed Linux on a huge (relatively speaking) tower PC at my home installed. Now I'm ordering CanaKit from Revain and in a few days I'll have another Linux system small enough to fit in my pocket and working.
