Review on 🎨 Mapei Grout Refresh Colorant and Sealer, Biscuit - 8oz: Grout Paint and Sealant Guide by Ronny Goodman

I'm so glad I only checked a small area of the floor first because now this grout is ruined. I first tried using the product exactly as directed on a white sanded tile grout in my dated bathroom. I washed the floor/grouts thoroughly the day before and let them dry completely. I then applied the refresh grout according to the directions with a small brush, left for 30 minutes and then removed by spraying with water, waiting 5 minutes then wiping off the excess with a damp sponge. Almost all of the grout came off with the sponge leaving my old white grout smeared with black. I thought maybe I didn't let it sit long enough so I tried letting it 1 hour (no!), then 2 hours (no!), then 12 hours (no!). After 12 hours I was able to just pull the refresher out in one strip. I thought that maybe diluting the refresher like I read in someone's review might help (no!). I tried *actually* applying a refreshing solution to the grout by brushing it in with a lot of pressure (no). I see in other reviews that this has worked for a lot of people (envious), but just in case you end up like me, be sure to test the product before applying it to the entire floor.
