Better than Targus for cable protection
The Targus lock was a real problem locking/unlocking. This lock is very easy to use (may depend on laptop brand/model I think). It's really just a deterrent for a thief to smash and grab it as you're relying on chance to keep it from being stolen. I've never tried throwing one away but don't think it will take long - again, it's a deterrent to those just passing by.
