The Simple Solution

I bought one for my nieces for Christmas as they are just learning to sew and at 12 I thought it would make a great gift while they are still at that age where they are exploring hobbies and curious will be able to learn new things and do things with their hands besides texting. I have five Singer through Kenmore machines plus a winding machine plus an old Singer Feather Weight machine that sews flawlessly and has been sewing for 45 years so I know a thing or two about the craft. Anyway, I watched a lot of youtube videos about this car before buying it and made sure it's the perfect car for her. When it arrived I unpacked it, looked at the pattern and tried every stitch, function and loop. I was very impressed. Mainly due to ease of use, low noise level, speed, no need to adjust tension when fabric weight changes (of course you'll have to do this for extreme variations) and finally the price - couldn't be better for what it does be. The automatic needle threader was a bit unwieldy, but that's a minor point since I've never had one, so it's not a big deal. I liked the speed (1100 stitches per minute versus 400-500 on regular machines) as I'm a speed lover and time is money! Another aspect of the machine that I like is that it is mechanical rather than computer controlled, making it much easier to repair and swap out parts if they are ever needed. I used to sell sewing machines and computer controlled machines never seemed to carry as much weight as mechanical ones and they tend to be very temperamental and break more often. After playing with the car for a few days I was so impressed that I bought it. I currently have my 1980 steel Kenmore on the stand but it's going into the attic. I really love this car and will definitely use it to the limit.
