Hard drives are assembled in a clean room, anytime people touch them, they wear gloves and also their overalls and masks, there were fingerprints on this drive. That was the first red flag for me, the next was a non-manufacturer serial number placed on a third-party sticker over the Western Digital sticker on the disc. If the drive were new, it would have been in its original anti-static packaging with no additional stickers. The third red flag was the year of manufacture (2014). I already knew it would be used, at least when I connected it to my netbook, which I booted into Linux Mint, which has a program that allows me to see my SMART test results. I couldn't get any results because the computer thought it wasn't formatted so I played along and tried to format it but the computer couldn't even format it. There was one partition (which wouldn't be there if it was actually a new bare disk). It also sounded like death. Conclusion: This seller tried to sell me a used AND BROKEN hard drive and passed it off as new. I'M WRITING THIS REVIEW AS A WARNING TO YOU. TAKE THIS FROM THE CALLOUT. IT'S NOT WORTH YOUR TIME TO GET A NEW ONE. DO NOT BUY HARD DISKS FROM THIS SELLER. DO NOT SUPPORT FRAUD. Consider yourself forewarned.
