Fitted my 2002 DOHC Zetec Focus SE station wagon today to replace the original 17 year old alternator with 84,000 miles. This unit fits like an original OEM and appears to be of good quality. As mentioned, it's initially loose until the bolts pull on the flare nuts after tightening. Both connectors (battery charging cable and 3-pin PCM control connector) fit well. Today I drove the car about 50 miles, changed the voltage load (AC, headlights, power windows, etc.) and so far so good. I'm assuming this unit will work just as well as any of those crappy Chinese alternators sold at local auto parts stores for almost double the price. Included was a test sheet showing dyno tests performed on this unit, all written in grammatically correct English, so I'm hoping it's a domestically refurbished and tested unit, but who knows. For now I've given it 4 stars due to limited run times but will update as I ride more. Seems like a lot of value but installation is a major pain due to the location of the alternator (Ford's fault) so long term durability and reliability is a must to make me a 5 star believer. UPDATE: (05/08/2020). I've driven about 6,000 miles on the alternator and it's stable. No problem. No questions. No malaria. I have a noisy generator on my F-150, I will also buy a DB Electrical generator for it and see how it behaves. $80 at Amazon vs. $170 locally. UPDATE: (12/20/2020). I have now driven 13,000 miles with the alternator and everything is going well. No problem. UPDATE: (4/7/2021). I've just hit 100km on the odometer and the alternator is still running (about 17km on the alternator). I am going deep and buying a DB electric starter for my 2008 F-350 diesel.
