I never thought I would have so many Ethernet port problems

I bought this Netgear Orbi Whole Home Mesh WiFi System in June 2020. I didn't know it wasn't an automatic firmware update, but I noticed it myself after going through a few firmware updates. After several hours trying to update the firmware for both the router and the satellites, I noticed that I can't update the components wirelessly, this has to be done with an ethernet cable connected to the router. How do you do that in a completely wireless household? The only possible wired device I could use would be a desktop on the 2nd floor of my apartment. I'd have to completely tear down the desktop and move it to the basement to do this with an ethernet cable! I also didn't realize how outdated the product I bought was until I installed it in my apartment. I'm not having much fun. I guess I have to destroy this system and start over. If you're buying a whole-home wireless system, make sure you can update the firmware over the air!

Pros
  • .Two (2) Gigabit Ethernet ports (1 WAN and 1 LAN) are available on the router. Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Use simple voice commands to manage your home network. Guest WiFi network. Share Internet access with friends and family without sharing your personal network password.
Cons
  • poorly thought out
