The thread itself is probably three stars, decent but not DMC quality with a good choice of colors but I took an extra star off for a large number of duplicates and lackluster customer service from the seller I bought it for embroidery and the thread itself is fine. I haven't had any issues with breakage or snagging, but haven't used it much either. It easily dissolves into 6 strands. It is significantly softer and less stiff than DMC yarn and the individual threads are slightly thinner. The packaging is not very good. The labels are applied loosely, so some of the sticky bits often face outwards, and when they are all squeezed together in a plastic bag, the filament from the other strands sticks to the surrounding labels. You need to carefully unwrap and separate them as most of them will stick to some others and the thread will snag and unravel if you don't carefully remove it from the label it is attached to. However, I bought a similar embroidery thread from another brand and encountered the same issue, so I suspect this is part of the low price tradeoff. Of the 140 strands, 29 were duplicates. You can tell these are duplicates and not just similar colors because the tags say a number and duplicates have the same number. Almost all of them were two of the same color, one was three of the same color, so it's not like I have 29 of the same, but most of the duplicates weren't the colors I use frequently (like bubblegum pink, swamp green) . , and canary yellow). ). The color selection is good, but overloaded with some colors. There was a lot of green there. Of the 140 strands, 31 were in shades of green and 4 of those strands were duplicates. The next were blue and pink, about 20 strands each. Red, Orange, Yellow and Brown each had about 12 strands. There were 6 purple and one gray. All groups except orange and purple had at least 2 duplicates. There was 1 skein of black, 2 shades of white (both bright white) and 2 duplicates of either cream or very light yellow, I just can't decide. Contacted the seller with a request to replace duplicates. They apologized and said they would do something but didn't respond so I contacted them again and we went back and forth for a while before they finally told me to contact Amazon customer service for an exchange or refund turn around. I just wanted my missing colors, no returns. I finally contacted Amazon who quickly refunded my money. I appreciate Amazon's quick action, but since the seller owns the product, I feel they should have fixed the issue with their product instead of sending me to someone else.
