Thread burn test. If it melts like plastic, it's polyester or nylon. Cotton burns like paper. so nothing will happen. Ash. This thread burns like plastic melts. To be fair. It could be cotton thread around a polyester core, which is poly blend, but I doubt it. The whole thread becomes transparent and you can weave it together like paracord. it is plastic. Super super disappointed because of that. Besides that. Crowd. it's close to DMC, but it's not DMC.

I sew and floss every day. I bought this pack because of the variety of colors and the cheap price. Although the colors are vibrant, this thread is of very poor quality. I had 2 main problems: 1) Some colors were completely resolved. Usually every 6 strands of the same color are twisted together, so if you want to use all 6 strands as 1 strand, you can do that. The thread itself is probably three stars, decent but not DMC quality with a good choice of colors but I took an extra star off for a large number of duplicates and lackluster customer service from the seller I bought it for embroidery and the thread itself is fine. I haven't had any issues with breakage or snagging, but haven't used it much either. It easily dissolves into 6 strands.
