My Revain Camera Review: As I own a 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara, I am reviewing this camera. I don't know if this will work with your CJ or JL. Me and my brother bought these based on the good reviews and cheap price. He has a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara and I have a 2013 model. Both have standard RHB head units. Removing the dash components to get the back of the radio was easy to follow in this video: https://youtu.be/VtzrNJVTPl4. You will need a 7mm socket and a small screwdriver for this. How the cable is routed from front to back can be easily understood with the help of this video: https://youtu.be/q-9tXLerAus. BUT we found that grounding with the reverse light wires didn't work (see about 10am) so we grounded the chassis with a 10mm screw. You will also need a dashboard removal toolkit like this one: https://www.amazon.com/GOOACC-Removal-No-Scratch-Dashboard-Dismantle/dp/B07V22YC9J which I used. There's also a short red cable with a yellow video jack that goes on the back. We don't need this as I understand this is for non-original radios and some sort of standalone monitors. I just taped it around so it doesn't touch the metal and just in case I need it in the future. If you fit the video stream connector on the back of the radio then there are two in this kit. We wanted the one with the two wires to the right (when looking at the back of the radio), NOT the one in the middle. Once you have everything wired and connected, you will need to "flash" the RHB main unit in order to use it with the camera. We installed an iOS app called OBD JScan, each bought a VIN (see app for that) and then used an OBDII Bluetooth reader like this: https://www.amazon.com/Vgate-Bluetooth -scanner -android. -Compatible /dp/B06XGB4873 You can enable the rear camera function. The good thing is that the reader can be used between vehicles (e.g. if you have multiple jeeps) and you can change their other functions while viewing the application. So for around $140 and a couple of hours, you can get a decent backup camera for your Jeep. One last thing, we found the camera position good enough to give you about 10 to 14 inches of range when the red line hit our jeep parking guide. Your experience may vary, but check before bending the brace.
