I used 3/4 inch double wall material to cover arc welding cords where the insulation was beginning to fray and crack. welding cable can be pushed through. I tried wire tape but it was too flexible to push through. I then took the 3/8 inch piece of rebar I had, tapered one end and slowly pushed it through the sheathing. Squeeze the wrapper to flatten it. Then I attached the welding wire to the anchor and pulled it back. It fits snugly onto the wire and finishes when heated with a heat gun. This worked great and should give my arc welding wire another 50 years of service.
