Early E-350 instructions were vague but perfect for later engines. I called K&N support and never got a definitive answer. I connected the air sensor the way I thought it should be connected and it worked fine. The instructions must be modified to include earlier engine models. When I damaged the rubber seal, the factory agent replaced it very quickly.
