In just a month the lock begins to rust. The stains are coming from the underside of the lock, indicating internal components are to blame. The lock also features a ball bearing as part of the locking mechanism, which is only held in place by a layer of grease. The ball bearing falls out of my lock almost every time I open it. This is an exceptionally poor design as there must be a mechanical lock for this component. I would NOT buy this lock again if given the opportunity to choose a different product. I have several other Master Lock products and this is by far the worst I have ever had.
