Five Stars: Thermometers & Timers

works as well if not better than the originals edited 22nd February 2017 My original review found the sensors to be just as good if not better the originals work. My first test was room temperature and then a quick boil on my Akorn Kamado stove. The second time I've used these sensors, the ambient temperature sensor is anything but normal! 30 degrees. When cooking, I've noticed that the temperature of the grill fluctuates wildly, then up, then down, then up, then down again. I took out the ambient temp sensor and replaced it with a meat sensor and the temp stabilized. I then put in another sensor clamp and left both in, the temperature of the surrounding sensor jumped up everywhere again while the other stayed the same. Okay, maybe another bad one, maybe right? I tested both with the boiling water test. The meat probe went up to 210 degrees and stayed there. The ambient temp gauge went up to 184 degrees, then started to fluctuate again, falling into the 170 range, then back to 180, then back to 160, then back up. So I am changing my 5 star rating to a 3 star rating. Edit on 03/13/17 another update to my review. I informed this seller about a problem with a bad ambient temperature sensor. They were out of stock but I was assured they would replace the defective sensor for me as soon as they became available. I got a replacement after 8 days. Great seller, a pleasure to do business with! As long as the replacement works
