This scanner is an amazing and very productive machine. I use it every week for document digitization and paper recycling. The quality of the 600 PPI scans is excellent and the Adobe OCR software gives excellent results due to the high quality of the scans. I recommend setting the scanner to automatically detect black and white or color pages and page sizes and skip blank pages. If you lower the settings to 400 PPI, it will run faster and the scanned files will be smaller. Adobe Acrobat is the PDF program I use and it typically reduces the size of a scanned file by 2x to 10x and converts it to a PDF that can be read in Adobe Acrobat X or later, but not earlier versions . The free Acrobat Reader can also read these minimized files if you are using the latest versions. This scanner has helped me save several trees and recycle hundreds of pounds of paper and I highly recommend it.
