Review on πŸ’» High-Speed USB 3.2 Gen1 to RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Converter: Driver-Free, Plug and Play, Compatible with Multiple Systems by Ben Almasri

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Provides 4 USB 3 ports, uses one. Use an external power source when connecting a hard drive or solid-state drive.

The standoffs and screws provided are not a standard 2.5mm, so I used my own standoffs, nuts (which are used as washers) and screws for assembly used. Once installed, it worked fine with low power devices (keyboard, mouse), but didn't provide enough power to the SSD in the USB enclosure. Connecting an external power supply to the USB-C port solved this problem, so the PI4 now has 2 power supplies. A power supply with two USB-C ports reduces the number of connected devices, but still leaves the PI with two power cables attached.

Pros
  • Driverless, Plug and Play, Multi-System Compatible
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide
