Review on ๐Ÿพ Double Door Soft-Sided Crate for MidWest Canine Camping by Justin Jefferson

A little underpowered on the base Boxes

I bought this box (48x31x35) for my 9 month old 100lb Newfoundland dog for travel and camping. I trained him in the cage and he was fine. But the first time we actually used it, one of the supports at the end buckled because it was leaning on it. Now this side is very weak and will cause the box to tip over. He really managed to turn the whole thing on its side. Even before he bent the brace, it wasn't as strong as I expected because the braces were only at the ends; no support on the long side of the roof or floor. I like its portability (it's hard to find a portable case for Newf!) so I'll try what another reviewer mentioned - stuff the PVC in that corner and see what happens. However, if that doesn't work, we'll have to move on to something more permanent, like a foldable iCrate. It's also a lot heavier than I expected, but it's manageable. I guess what I mean is if your dog likes to lean against the wall of a regular cage or snuggle up to them then don't take this (especially if you have a large dog). If your dog just hangs around in the middle of the cage, this will likely work.

Pros
  • Same as everything so far
Cons
  • Little things
