My computer with a standard WiFi card and small antennas had problems with WiFi. It didn't connect to my WiFi's 5GHz band. If I forced it, there would be intermittent loss of connection. My phone and laptop connected seamlessly from the same room, so I knew the problem was with the antenna or the computer itself. I bought the thing, unscrewed the built-in antennas, screwed them in, and started testing the speeds. It instantly connected to the 5GHz band and achieved stable download speeds of 200+ Mbps. Eventually I found a good spot just a few feet from my computer that gives me a solid 5GHz connection with 280Mbps download speeds. The Wi-Fi card on my PC is rated for a maximum speed of 300Mbps. My internet is rated 750 and my phone is rated 450 but I take 280 for 40 EVERY day.
