A french fries knife works well if you REALLY know how to hit it and can put a lot of effort into squeezing the potato halves through. The blades are very good sharp and really cut my fingers after accidentally hitting them in soapy water while cleaning them so be careful I don't know who to contact to see if I can get a replacement although they say "As the wedge cutter can cut anything I would recommend sticking with Just Soft Fruit. Seems I'm not the only one with this. Overall this is a device that saves me time in the kitchen as we only eat hand-cut fries , but it takes a lot of work to press them and then clean them thoroughly , plus a broken app, so I can only give 3 stars out of 5.
