I would say the color is a bit chalky but that makes it comfortable to grip and non-slip. The brand name is on the paint and not engraved if you care. I would say take these. Extensions are extensions. I use them on my drums and even my hand tools as I don't see why I should buy them twice. I think it's a marketing ploy to trick you into buying two sets of tools.
