Second set of Tenda devices (different models) and similar problems with both. There was high speed in the first set; I got all the 250Mbps I pay for Comcast, but there was a weird bottleneck issue with Messenger and a few other apps I use every day. I ignored it for a while, but eventually got fed up and sent the devices back. Prime Day came and this system was available at a great price, but they have more problems. The bottleneck is still there (messages are reserved and then arrive randomly all at once, or I have to physically open Messenger or another app to get notifications) and the speed is terrible. I gave up my old router for a mesh setup, but as a troubleshooting and verification step, I replaced my old router to see if the notification issue is actually related to the Tenda system. Also, my old router has faster speeds. As mentioned, I'm paying for 250Mbps and regardless of device or time of day, the best I've recorded on speedtest.net is around 65Mbps. All firmware is up to date and all settings are correct and it's just not good. I've had some issues with YouTube videos getting stuck in a buffer loop and photos coming through Messenger very slowly etc. which definitely shouldn't happen on wired internet. I checked my wife's phone as well as the tablet and also noticed slow speeds on my laptop. Is the quality control bad? Are they falsely advertising speeds to sell units? I don't know the answer, but this setup goes back to Revain. Despite my problems, there are some good things. Setup was very easy with the Tenda app. They look really cool and go well with my decor. The signal is strong throughout my house and reliable despite the low speed. The app lets you manage many different things easily, so it's pretty versatile. Oh yes, and the price is right. I wanted these and Tenda but no luck. Maybe I'll try again in the future; Charm for the third time, am I right?
