Revainrating 1 out of 5

Beautiful but fatally flawed. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM

I am a huge Starrett fan but I am very disappointed in this product. Note - I returned it. First off it's heavy and beautiful and I was so lucky to own it. until I looked. The quality of the thread finish is very poor, making it difficult to tighten and very rough to machine. More importantly, it just doesn't hold the faucet properly. I used a 1/2" tap and the way the cams were cut just didn't allow enough engagement on the stem to get a stable in-line connection. former water polo player is 6ft 3in and weighs 235lbs). If it is then used, it cannot maintain the orientation. watch the video It's a little hard to see but I tightened it up and when I turned on the tool it became pliable. He tightened it again, but after a few threads it was already sagging. Absolutely useless, do not buy this product. If you look at my reviews you will see that most of them are positive. I'm a fairly experienced mechanic and this one deserves a one star rating.
