No update or support for Subaru newer than 2017

The name says it all. I used the coverage checker on the autel website and it showed that this model supports the engine control system, transmission control system, brake control system and airbag system. But by default it doesn't support anything other than reading and clearing the base code for Subaru after 2017 because when scanning and selecting a Subaru (WRX in my case) there is no selection outside of MY2017. I checked and there is no software update for Subaru for this model either. Note. It turned out that for most brands and models other than the original version, no updates were available either. So I suspect they aren't supported either. Needless to say it returns as it doesn't do what it says it does. The DTC didn't work either because I couldn't enter a DTC. However, I gave it 2 stars because it was easy to use and if you have a car that supports it, the screen was bright, connected quickly to the headunit and the navigation was clear and responsive. The downside is that there are too many vehicles (makes and models) for which there is no update other than the first version of the software which is too old to be useful for all vehicles manufactured in the last 4 years be. Too bad I don't like it.

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • So far so good
