I was expecting this device to actually measure specific gravity but it has two scales both in Brix. However, it was comparable to my hydrometer when ingesting OG and FG beers. But this is useless to just take FG and calculate ABV. Use the numbers OG, FG and calculate them. When it came out of the box it showed 0 of my room temperature tap water which was a good starting point for me but this can be adjusted. Supplied with a durable plastic case, a screwdriver to set the device, a non-scratch cloth and a plastic dropper.
