Review on πŸ”Œ Makita XCV11Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless HEPA Filter Portable Wet/Dry Dust Extractor/Vacuum, 2 Gallon - Tool Only by Daniel Spear

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Convenient but questionable value.

I've been waiting at the Makit to release a small shop vacuum and here it is. The XCV11 is relatively quiet and picks up good to average sound well. It's good enough for its intended purpose, but if you're hoping to use it for a quick vacuuming job you'll need to add a more suitable hose and look for adapters. Sure, Makita makes and sells adapters, but finding the right accessories is neither intuitive nor cheap. I dug up adapters referenced in the product literature and they ended up costing around $15-$20 each. Just let us know which adapters fit this vacuum cleaner and tools, or suggest them along with the tool. You can assume the people buying this will have other Makita tools and need the flexibility of dust extraction. This thing is quickly losing its value as an affordable solution for quick vacuuming tasks. At Makita, I feel trapped with all the cordless tools and batteries I've invested in over the years. And the last. If I get into the van without any restrictions, he always greets me from the bottom up the next time I open the door. It's heavy (especially with a battery) and will tip over.

Pros
  • Compact and portable design; Weighs only 10.1 lbs with 18V LXT 5.0Ah battery (battery not included)
Cons
  • No Instructions
